Get Ready for the Great Outdoors Festival
This summer, things are really heating up (sorry) and to start off the incredible festivals Whistler (and the entire Sea-to-Sky corridor) has for you this summer, we bring you the GO Festival. Spring's World Ski and Snowboard Festival just ended, and we have just a small window of time to rest before the GO Festival starts.
May's Victoria Day Long Weekend
For four days, from May 16 through May 19thCrankworx brings you, with the Resort Municipality of Whistler, a celebration of outdoor recreation. Activities include races that are meant to be challenging, mixed with activities "just for fun" such as the AlpenGlow Race, which is meant for absolutely everyone - strollers, kids, pets - everyone! On the other side of the spectrum perhaps, is the Great Snow Earth Water Race, which basically includes every terrain possible in Whistler in one race - downhill mountain biking, XC mountain biking, downhill skiing or boarding, XC skiing, running and canoeing.
Each day and night of the festival, several bands play: She Stole My Beer, The Boom Booms, The Sheepdogs, Foxy Moron, Gordo, and Coloured Sky will be present and doing their thing to keep the spirits high during this four-day celebration.
Come Out and Play!
GO Festival organizers want you to "Come out and play!" this May long weekend. With so much going on, the only thing you'll be challenged with is what to do first...of course, that is what the organizers say.
The other side to that is that there are many challenges going on all weekend long, including the Great Snow Earth Water Race. On top of that, though, there is the Great Green River Challenge and the GO Enduro. Those activities seem very challenging to us.
No matter what you decide to do, or how challenging you decide to make this weekend, we hope you'll visit for the Whistler GO Festival.
And if you need help booking accommodations for this event, or need any questions answered, we're here to help. Contact us today and let us show you all we can about Whistler and the GO Festival.
