The World Ski & Snowboard Festival is a 10 day event that takes place April 12 -21. Originally the festival was primarily a freestyle ski & snowboard contest but over time the festival has begun to incorporate a number of different events. Now the festival has turned into diverse week that includes: ski & snowboard contests, concert series, fashion shows, art shows, film premiers, parties and much more.
The Concert Series
One of the most popular events of the WSSF is the Concert Series. The concerts run all 10 days of the festival and are FREE to the public to enjoy. All of the concerts take place at the Skiers Plaza Stage located at the base of Whistler Mountain (Skiers Plaza). The stage overlooks Whistler Mountain and can house thousands in attendance. Most of the concerts take place during mid - afternoon beginning at 2:30PM or 4:30PM.
Musical Acts
Every year the WSSF books a diverse group of acts sure to appeal to wide range of people. This year's musical acts include rap superstar Nas, Canadian rock group the Arkells, alternative hip-hop band G-Love & Special Sauce and homegrown heroes Swollen Members & K-OS. As of now there 19 acts confirmed to play over the 10 day concert series. More acts are expected to be added to the roster the closer we get to the festival.
