Ski season is fast approaching and official opening day for Whistler and Blackcomb Mountain is November 24th. There is already snow at the Roundhouse Lodge on Whistler Mountain and Rendezvous Lodge on Blackcomb Mountain. Temperatures are cool in the Valley and there is much anticipation for the start of the season. Between now and opening day there are many events happening, so this is a great time to visit Whistler! Whistler 50 Relay & Ultra Run - November 5th
A new event is coming to Whistler this November! BC Athletics is pleased to announce the inaugural Whistler 50 Relay and Ultra. The ultra marathon course is 50 miles (80kms) and takes place around the stunning Valley Trail system. There will be an 8 person relay happening at the same time, with alternating legs of approximately 12K and 8K. Registration is open now for both events and you can sign up online at BC Athletics. There will be a post-race dance at the Whistler Conference Centre in the evening.
Cornucopia - November 10th to 13th
Cornucopia is now recognized as the "West Coast's premier resort-based epicurean extravaganza". This is Whistler's Celebration of Wine and Food. This amazing weekend features a variety of hands-on seminars, gala tasting events, winemaker's dinners and famous after-parties. Highlights of Cornucopia include the CRUSH Gala Grand Tasting held on the Friday and Saturday evening at the Whistler Conference Centre. You will have the opportunity to sip, sample and savor your way through dozens of wineries. This year Araxi restaurant will be celebrating its 30th anniversary. Whistler & Blackcomb Mountain Opening Day - November 24th.
